Barnstaple to Farnsbourough, Rye and onto Cambridge

Barnstaple to Farnborough is our longest leg. From woe-to-go is almost 3 hours.
Booked out of Rose Barn feeling reluctant to leave.

Started our journey early, moving along the extremely narrow lanes towards the coast, before travelling inland. Drove past Stonehenge, but decided not to visit. Countryside is all so green and the cows are all so fat and well fed!  Perfect weather. Blue skies.

Drove through gorgeous countryside on roads which were narrow but manageable.

Visited Monttisfont with a beautiful house and garden which was an Abbey. Was free entry as it was National Trust day . . .  a bonus. Saved us nearly $80.00

So had an enjoyable lunch in the grounds near the river Tone . . . full of huge trout and Salmon. Then drove past more gorgeous scenery and interesting buildings.

Arrived in Farnborough to our lovely modern accommodation. King size bed.

Had an enjoyable meal and happy, but exhausted, it was early to bed. In am, onto Rye.
